WELLSVILLE, N.Y. — Liftech Equipment Companies recently provided the ability for Alfred State College students to experience a new technology and design in Skid Steer equipment. The Skid Steer, loaned to the university for training, was used during a lecture, conducted by Mark Payne, “The Liftech team provided an opportunity for at least 38 students to experience the JCB 320T and the new generation of Skid Steer / Track Loader technology”, said Payne. Payne, an assistant professor for the university, mentioned that it is not always easy to have equipment available with the latest technology. “Unfortunately, it’s just not practical to have a machine from every manufacture on site to discuss the differences and the advantages of one over the other. Ryan and the team at Liftech made my job a little easier this time”!
In addition to the lecture, the equipment was used to carry material for a residential housing project by the senior class. According to Payne, the material was carried over “one of the wettest jobsites in the subdivision.” Payne noted that the most significant difference in this piece of equipment compared with other equipment is its “single arm design and door system lead to much better visibility than any other skid steer or track load I have ran. I am impressed with how much you can see around the machine!” Payne also noted that the cab is comfortable and roomy with an environment that “you wouldn’t mind spending a day in.”
Payne also noted that the heavy equipment operator class is part of a technical Building Trades program at Alfred State College of Technology and that the programs always strive to offer the most well rounded college experience for students. Payne said, “I hope to continue to work with Liftech and JCB as we grow to serve more students in the coming years.”
